Women and Girls Football Charter

Heidelberg Junior Football Club is proud to be a signatory to the Women and Girls Football Charter in 2026. 

 

As a signatory, we commit to championing women and girls across all levels of our club guided by the following principles: Opportunity, Visibility, Access and Investment.  

 

We acknowledge that:

(a) women and girls are starting  from a different point in their involvement in community football than men and boys;

(b) there is a genuine need for change in creating more inclusive environments that will benefit our members;

(c) driving equality will require commitment and an innovative approach; and

(d) positive, targeted action is required to create more inclusive experiences for all women and girls

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community and in particular the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation which is the land in which we gather and play. We pay respect to our First Nations Peoples and their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
